Scenic drive around the magic island of Lipari with an open-deck Citroen Mehari, classic car from the 70’s, perfect to enjoy a 360° panoramic view of the best places on the island. You will take lots of pictures but will also get to know many stories, tips and information from our English-speaking local guide.
This private tour is led with small groups of 2-3 people only.
We will pick you up from your hotel or boat pier and will start your journey through the marvelous highlights of the island: after a drive through the only tunnel of the island you will begin with a stop for photos in the quaint village of Canneto, with it’s volcanic beach and a perfect view of the islands of Stromboli and Panarea.
Your second stop will be at the impressive pumice quarries of Lipari, iconic white volcanic mountains excavated in the past by the locals to extract the white stones, now protected by Unesco as an example of mediterranean landscape and its interaction with man labour. The unforgettable view of the many shades of blue of the sea is worth a beautiful selfie.
Our drive will proceed through the small streets “off the beaten path” of the villages of Acquacalda and Quattropani with white aeolian houses and fantastic sea views, until we reach the iconic church of Chiesa Vecchia on the top of the hill, the perfect spot for a group photo with the islands of Salina, Filicudi and Alicudi in the background.
Our last stop will be in the viewpoint of Quattrocchi to admire the breathtaking iconic view of the island of Vulcano with its active “smoking” crater: if it’s a clear day from here you will also see the snow-capped tip of Mount Etna in Sicily. This is the best way to end an epic tour of the island of Lipari and the memories of this experience will last forever.
We will then drive you back to the tour starting point or where you like in the city of Lipari.
